Made in Amatenango del Valle, Chiapas, Mexico, these clay pieces are shaped and painted entirely by hand, with care given to every detail.
Amatenango del Valle is a Tseltal community known for its pottery tradition, passed down through generations. Traditionally, girls learned the craft from their mothers and grandmothers from an early age. Today, both women and men continue this practice.
This piece was made by Ceci and her mother, Paulina, who lead a group of Tseltal women artisans, sharing their skills and knowledge through their work.
